Like all fairy tales, Blue Beard is an expression of the collective unconscious, and offers a possible understanding of universal patterns in the human psyche. It depicts the dance and the dynamics between the two grand archetypal forces, the masculine and the feminine. Using all the resources of modern movement theatre, Wasson and Soum are inventing for Kanopy Dance Company a voyage, punctuated by humor and derision, through the labyrinth of Bluebeard’s mind.
Following the success of “A Strange Day for Mister K.” and “Good Morning Mister K.”, this will be the third work created by the Theatre de l’Ange Fou for Kanopy Dance Company.
