A full-length performance of the ballet “Renascence”, a “love letter to nature”, choreographed by Kanopy’s artistic directors, Robert E. Cleary (Cleary) and Lisa Thurrell (Thurrell), headlines Kanopy’s spring production of Radiance.
Inspired by and set to Michael Bell’s “Regeneration”—a symphony composed in five captivating movements, “Renascence”, was developed in a multi-phased artistic collaboration that culminated with a guest performance of the world premiere ballet by Kanopy Dance in the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s Masterworks Regeneration concert in February 2026.
“Renascence” celebrates the regenerative power of connecting to our natural world through a prism of stunning dance performance and music. The radiant choreography artfully moves Kanopy’s dancers like floating sylphs… diaphanous in metallic pleated satins that were custom designed by NYC’s David Quinn–on a rhythmic journey towards achieving inner harmony.
The concert also features guest stars, Michael Bell and Eleanor Mayerfeld, who will perform a selection of six songs set to original choreography, that weave together nature and personal love through a variety of dynamic genres including American Folk, Italian Baroque, and Sensual Jazz Rhythms.

Radiance is Dedicated to Mary Demeter Thurrell (1930–2026), who Profoundly Touched and Inspired our Community, the Arts , her Family, Friends and Colleagues with her Creative Talents and her Precious Time.
