Oct 2-5, 2025 (Thurs-Sat) – Overture Center for the Arts

Opening Kanopy’s 2025/26 season is Puppet Master, a glam rock ballet with a trip into the netherworld of enchantment and an invitation for concert goers to join in the fantasy and dress “inspired” as splashy metal stars. Choreographed by Robert E. Cleary, it’s the ultimate theatrical experience in visual story telling! Vibe to the energy of animated stage lighting, moodscapes, and other special effects… all synced to unbelievably creative dance moves and the powerful beat of the music.

Dec 4-7, 2025 (Thurs-Sun) – Overture Center for the Arts

In December, Kanopy lights up the stage with holiday dazzle in Winter Fantasia: Reimagined, a multicultural celebration. Delight in magical Nordic legends and a festive Gujarati “garba” folk dance, “Chalo Ramiye” performed in authentic, lavishly adorned costuming and choreographed by South Asian guest artist Udbhav Desai, who also dances in the colorful centuries-old ritual. The joyful and sassy, “Winter in the City,” set to the iconic Leonard Bernstein score for “On the Town”, and charged with fancy footwork completes the lineup.

Feb 27, 2026 – Overture Center for the Arts

In February 2026, Kanopy guest stars in the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s (WCO) production of Masterworks III: Regeneration. Maestro Andrew Sewell flawlessly conducts “Regeneration: A Pentalogy”, by local composer Michael M. Bell, that is accompanied by a breathtaking performance of Robert E. Cleary’s and Lisa Thurrell’s world premiere choreography… a deeply expressive journey that artfully moves dancers, diaphanous in metallic satins, through the ebb and flow of existence. The concert also headlines “Please Let There Be a Paradise” by Grammy-nominated composer Angel Lam, and the world premiere of “Concerto for Jazz Trio” by Dan Cavanagh, director of the UW Mead Witter School of Music. 

Apr 16-19, 2026 (Thurs-Sat) – Overture Center for the Arts

Anna Sokolow was an international cultural icon and social activist whose powerful theatrical choreography profoundly shaped the course of modern dance and whose voice was never silenced. This spring, NYC’s Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble and Kanopy Dance collaborate on a remarkable fusion performance, Divine Mythologies: Anna Sokolow’s Epic “Odes” + Other Luminous Voices, to be staged at concerts both at the Overture Center and the MMAC Theater in New York City. Sokolow’s epic work “Odes” poses extreme physical and emotional challenges requiring the 21 dancers from two companies to fluidly coalesce—yet maintain their individuality. It is a singular artistic feat and a powerful dance experience not to be missed.

May 16, 2026 (Saturday, 2 shows only) – Overture Center for the Arts

Closing the season in May, is The Next Generation of Dance. Watch the next generation of dancers and choreographers in Kanopy’s pre-professional training program, Kanopy 2, and the Kanopy Academy ignite the stage with new ideas, new expressions and even original choreography and costuming developed and built by the dancers themselves.
