Kanopy Dance Company and Winifred Haun & Dancers
“Promise at Historic Pleasant Home Mansion”
Kanopy Dance will be performing excerpt from Kanopy’s Co Artistic Director Lisa Thurrell “Come Months, Come Away” a sweeping ode to fall – romantic, lush with music set to poetry by Percy Bysshe Shelley, Emily Bronte, John Keats. The tone is turn of the 20th century romanticism. In the first song the year is personified by a woman; the months, as shadows and blowing dusty images of autumn. This was created as a celebration of autumn, embracing pure elegant movement in a circular and cyclical form.
‘Promise’ is Winifred Haun’s dance inspired by John Steinbeck’s East of Eden.
