Kanopy Dance Company Season 2015-2016 Tickets On Sale


Kanopy Dance Company presents ‘A Season of Contrasts:’ three distinct weekends of dance that provokes. Vivid performances true to our lineage of Graham’s teachings of dramatic tension and release, Kaleidoscopes of movement and empathy, emotional rollercoaster rides. Each of our three performances offers the unique opportunity to witness the artistry of international, regional and local choreographers, artists and Kanopy’s talented company dancers and  choreographers performing inspired and inspiring works. Kanopy’s Season at the Overture Center for the Arts 2015-2016 tickets are on sale.

Auditions Kanopy Dance Company 2015-16 Season

IMG_2293Open to adult male and female dancers with strong background in modern and ballet. Audition will be in modern dance class format. Be prepared to take class and present a solo no more than 1.5 minutes long. For Intermediate/Advanced dancers, ages 12-adult. This is a rare opportunity to train with master artist in Humphrey/Weidman Dance; founding technique to Jose Limon Dance Company, and much modern we see today. Learn from Master Teacher and former Principal Dancer of Charles Weidman Dance Company, Deborah Carr. Repertory from Weidman’s American Masterwork ‘Lynchtown’ (1936) will be learned. There will be an informal showing at the end of the week with Ms Carr, Kanopy Dance Company and workshop students.
